Fall 2008 Workshops

Starting Sept. 27, Toe Up Socks $90
Today’s sock yarns make caring for hand knit socks easy as many are machine washable and dryable. Socks are also the perfect portable project. Small and quickly completed, they are wonderful for trying out new stitch patterns and techniques. The beauty of toe-ups socks is there is no grafting and you can knit the leg until you run out of yarn. The heel and toe you will learn in class are similar so there is instant reinforcement of the technique. Given by Jaya Srikrishnan.
Saturdays, Sept. 27, Nov. 1, and Nov. 22, 9:00 - 12:00

Starting Sept. 27, Driftwood Stole $90
Please come and join Jaya Srikrishnan for another of her knit-along workshops. She’ll introduce you to two knitting techniques as you knit this stole. The stole incorporates cables and lace-work so you will become comfortable with both techniques. You will also learn how to read cable and lace charts, pick up stitches, and how to block for a perfectly finished look for all your knits.
Saturdays, Sept. 27, Nov. 1, and Nov. 22, 12:30 - 3:30

Starting Sept. 28, Beaded Beret $60
While you knit this stylish beret, you will learn a few new tricks - 2 different ways to add beads and a knit-in, no-sew hem. If a beret is not your style, the same design can be knit as a cap.
The hem makes it warm over the ears and the beads add depth. Given by
Jaya Srikrishnan.
Sundays, Sept. 28 and Nov. 2, 10:00 - 1:00

Starting Oct. 11, Felted Flower Purse $60

In this two part class, Joyce Elliot will teach you how to make a beautiful felted purse with a felted flower. You’ll learn how to knit with a circular needle, pick up stitches, make an i-cord, and work the flower. You’ll wind up with a gorgeous new purse that will be perfect for gift giving or showing off for yourself!
Saturdays, Oct. 11 and Nov. 8, 9:30 - 12:30
