Sassy Slipped Stitches $45
Utilizing just one color per row, Barbara Kerr will show you how to create colorful knit items. Slip stitch knitting can produce creative texture patterns as well as color so possibilities are endless. You’ll learn two garter stitch patterns, two flowers, and two additional textured patterns.

Reversible Knitting $45
Barbara Kerr will teach you how to use reversible knitting to create a fabric that looks great on both sides. This technique is perfect for scarves, shawls, blankets, and afghans. Reversible knitting uses one color per row and incorporates slipped stitches as well as knit/purl combinations. This technique is simple yet the combinations are stunning.

Mistakes and How to Fix Them $60
BRING YOUR MESSES and your unfinished items. Dropped stitches? pattern mistakes? Doesn’t fit? Ran out of yarn? Barbara Kerr will take your dilemmas and help you strategize to fix them. If you don’t have a disaster (good for you!) but want to learn the solutions, just make some mistake swatches and you’ll have solutions ready for reference when needed. Wear your PJ’s if you like and join us for a comfortable day of fixing problems.

Faroese Shawl Knit Along $60

Wondering what to do with those lovely skeins of hand painted sock yarn? Jaya Srikrishnan will show you how to combine 3 of them (either the same or coordinating colors) into a gorgeous shawl. Faroese shawls have special shaping that keeps them on your shoulders, but they are simple to knit and a joy to wear.

Illusion Knitting $45
This simple technique (with only one color per row) looks like stripes when you at it straight on but you can see graphics or other patterns when you look at from an angle. Jaya Srikrishnan will help you create a sample project and show you how to create your own design for illusion knitting.

Advanced Finishing Skills $45
During this three hour class Barbara Kerr will teach you a wide variety of techniques that will help you give all your knit items the perfect finished look they deserve. You’ll learn how to attach vertical ribbing, a tapestry cast on and cast off, sewn cast off, an i-cord bind off, and how to grave live stitches to rows. You’ll leave with a printed handout of the class techniques as well as a quick reference sheet of finishing tips and a formula for buttonhole placement.

Cable and Lace Combinations $45
Barbara Kerr will teach some beautiful patterns. The cables draw the knitting together and the lace spreads it apart, making a romantic and feminine fabric. You’ll learn a variety of cable and lace combinations. Included is a printed handout of the patterns and techniques taught in class as well as some extras to try at home.

A to Z of Knitting Tips $60
Using the alphabet as a guide, Barbara Kerr will provide a useful knitting tip for each letter that will enhance your knitting knowledge. For instance, A will be attaching a vertical band, B is for backward knitting, and Z for sewing a zipper to a cardigan. Q is for questions you’ll bring! This has been one of Barbara’s most popular workshops. Let’s enjoy a fun Sunday together.

These adorable and fun ankle high socks will be perfect for sleep, spring, and summer! Jaya Srikrishnan will show you how to work the lacy pattern is easy to remember and in class you’ll reinforce your heal turning and toe shaping skills. You’ll have a pair of fabulous socks in no time!

Chix with Stix
This series of classes meets weekly for 12 weeks. You’ll work on your own project and learn at your own pace with inspiration from your classmates who all come with different levels of experience. Some of the classes have a mix of knitters and crocheters. We have had so much fun with these classes that some are in their seventh year with many of the same people! Please call the store for more information on schedule and cost.

Free Knit and Crochet Lessons
Come in for a free introduction to knitting or crochet every Saturday from 10am to Noon. If you purchase a ball of yarn and a hook or pair of needles the lesson is complementary!


First Fridays 'Knitting Together'
Join us on the first Friday of each month from 7:00pm until 10:00pm. We'll bring our projects and join you for a fun and relaxing evening. Bring a snack, if you like. You'll receive 10% off all purchases that evening. Please give us a call first to be sure we haven't moved the date.
