Dear Friends,
We hope that you all had a good summer! We're all looking forward to the Fall this year since we've got some wonderful yarns and patterns in already. Classic Elite is here with some exciting fibers and colors. Come in and check out Art Yarns Super Marino, a hand painted aran weight yarn that feels fabulous. We love this season's designs in Rebecca and Rowan magazines which should be arriving any day. We've switched to Cascade 220 for our worsted weight wool. The colors are so rich and deep and it knits and felts beautifully. The Vittadini yarns and designs will keep you at the top of winter fashion and should be here shortly. Jordana Paige's Knitter's Satchel has such a modern and efficient design. We've ordered some great colors. A knitting needle case for home use should be a perfect gift for your knitting friends. We've also added Jo Sharp's Aran Tweed and Rowan's Felted Tweed since we hear that tweed will be big this season. Cables and lace also seem to be a trend for this year so we've incorporated these in our fall class schedule. If you mastered the shrugs, shawls, and bags maybe you are ready for a new challenge. Jaya will be back with some old favorites and some wonderful new classes. We have packed two Barbara Kerr weekends full of wonderful techniques. If you are looking for a quick skill update check out Theresa's mitten classes. They will give you the chance to try a new skill on a small project. Marjaana will be giving a wonderful finishing class. Bring your finished pieces and learn from each other.
We've been updating our pattern library but you should also check out the patterns available online. There are free patterns available on many of our supplier's websites. Here are a few: www.Berroco.com, www.straw.com, www.knitrowan.com, www.classiceliteyarns.com, www.soysilk.com, and www.plymouthyarn.com.
We're all looking forward to the fall colors and textures, to the feel of wool in our hands, and the warmth of sweaters and blankets in laps while we work on them and reconnect with all of you!
Happy Fall from all of us at Yarn Central!
